Corona I–III reduces landscape to the minimal graphic elements of flat vivid colors and sequences of lines. The composition is printed in three separate color combinations to suggest three very distinct atmospheric conditions. The undulating line quality of Aspinwall’s previous works has evolved into a series of trembling lines that suggest foliage and the dense impenetrability of a forest or thicket. This crown-like tiered band is the root of the title.
